Explore Tamarindo, Costa Rica: One of the Best Places to Visit in Costa Rica:
PURA VIDA! It means “Pure Life” in Costa Rica. Tamarindo is a beach community and you can walk around the town without feeling dangerous.
The Best time to go to Tamarindo, Costa Rica is in March. We flew from Toronto to Liberia Airport via Sunwing Airline. Then our Airbnb Host (Sol Sunshine) arrange the Driver (Jose) for us and the cost was $85 USD. He came to the airport to pick us up and drive us to Tamarindo Airbnb. This price was 2017 prices. Due to inflation, this price may have changed. Make sure to check with the host for the price when you book the driver.
Where We Stayed in Tamarindo, Costa Rica:
There are 5 of us travelling on this trip and we stayed in Tamarindo, Costa Rica from March 1-4 at an Airbnb hosted by Sol Sunshine. This place has 2 bedrooms , 4 beds , 2 baths.
If you are travelling in a group (with friends and/or family), renting an Airbnb is the way to go. This location is perfect as it is very central to everything. The unit is located in a quiet area within a 5 minutes walk to the beach and 2 minutes to the nearest restaurants and markets.
This cozy condominium is only 300 meters away from the beach and the center of Playa Tamarindo downtown. It is located in a gated community with a great pool and outdoor area.
The apartment has two room upstairs. A master bedroom with queen bed and private bathroom, and the second room has two twins beds. Downstairs you have two sofa that converts to a twin bed downstairs.
The living area has a flat screen TV with cable and internet.

2. Hang out and swim at the beach and possibly play some volleyball if you are a volleyball lover. 🙂
3. Take Surfing lesson at Iguana Surf. I highly recommend Iguana Surf in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. The instructor is very knowledgeable. He gave us step by step instruction on how to get on the surf board, how to stand and what to do when you are on the wave. We took turn to surf when the wave came. The instructor told each of us when the wave was here so we could get ready and get on the board.

You will explore the beach, forest and mountains on this 2-hour ATV tour. Drive through the small surf towns within Guanacaste on the ATV. This is quite an exhilarating and adventurous way to explore the natural beauty of Costa Rica.
BEST Places to Eat in Tamarindo, Costa Rica:
When we first arrived in Tamarindo, we dropped off our luggage at the Airbnb. Then we head out for a walk and grab a bite. We ended up at El Chiringuito for lunch. This restaurant has an awesome beachfront view! The food is amazing! Especially the watermelon salad!
We all love Breakfast Grinds. They have got the BEST fruit smoothies! No sugar added. In addition, their breakfast is delicious. Our favorites are omlette rancheros that comes with sides of potatoes and toast. Burritos with a mixed mexican sauce is another great dish.
I had 3-4 smoothies in one sitting! We were here 2 days in a row!
This is the top spot to hang out in the mornings as it has a fantastic beach view across the street. In addition to having a beach view, you can also watch people surf from the top patio. We were here for breakfast 2 days in a row. On the 2nd day in Tamarindo, We hang out here for breakfast before we went to our surfing lesson.
We took a walk around the area and discover this place ‘Waffle Monkey’. Their waffles are so fluffy, buttery goodness with every bite. Add banana to the waffle to make a healthy snack! 🙂
Pangas Beach Club is a super relaxing place to chill on the beach! In addition, the Sunset is amazingly beautiful! The service is great. Also the food is delicious as you can see from the pictures below. 🙂
We had ceviche, steak on hot stone, grilled lobster and shrimp on sizzling plate. The seafood is fresh and delicious!
